Job Title- Senior Solution Architect / Lead Engineer Central Pricing Engine

Location- Pune

Role Description:

Deutsche India is seeking a talented Senior Solution Architect / Lead Engineer to support the Central Pricing Engine initiative for Deutsche Bank Private Bank. The initiative aims to establish a centralized, scalable and well-governed pricing capability across Private Bank Germany products, enabling consistent customer- and relationship-level pricing, faster time-to-market for pricing changes, strong governance, auditability and regulatory defensibility. The role will contribute to the design and delivery of a strategic pricing decision service that can support deposits, accounts, cards, lending and investment products, while integrating with core banking, CRM, channels, risk, funding, product and data platforms.

As a Senior Solution Architect / Lead Engineer for the Pricing Engine initiative, you will be responsible for shaping the target architecture, solution design and engineering approach for a cross-product central pricing capability. You will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, enterprise architects, infrastructure architects, procurement, vendors and engineering teams to translate business and non-functional requirements into secure, scalable and API-first solution designs. This role requires strong banking domain knowledge, enterprise architecture discipline, hands-on engineering leadership and the ability to evaluate vendor solutions, define integration patterns, support RFI/RFP activities and guide delivery from MVP definition through implementation roadmap.

Your key responsibilities

- Pricing Engine Solution Architecture: Lead the solution design for a centralized pricing decision service, ensuring alignment with Private Bank TOM objectives, business requirements, target architecture principles and long-term technology strategy.
- Functional and Technical Design: Translate pricing requirements into architecture and design artefacts covering rule configuration, parameter management, versioning, simulation, approvals, auditability, real-time and batch pricing capabilities.
- Cross-Product Pricing Capability: Design solutions that support product-agnostic pricing across deposits, accounts, cards, retail lending, mortgages, wealth lending and investment products, while allowing product-specific pricing models where required.
- API-First Integration Architecture: Define secure, resilient and reusable APIs and integration patterns for core banking platforms, CRM, digital channels, campaign systems, data platforms, risk, Treasury/FTP and downstream servicing systems.
- Vendor Assessment and RFP Support: Support vendor evaluation, RFI/RFP questionnaire preparation, solution deep-dives, demo assessments, architecture reviews and make-versus-buy analysis for shortlisted pricing engine solutions.
- Target Architecture and MVP Definition: Define the phased architecture and MVP approach,

including initial scope for overnight deposits and future expansion to broader Private Bank Germany product groups.
- Governance, Audit and Regulatory Traceability: Ensure solution designs support approval workflows, segregation of duties, rule traceability, audit trails, regulatory defensibility, data lineage and controlled change management.
- Non-Functional Requirements: Define and validate performance, scalability, latency, resilience, observability, security, data privacy and disaster recovery requirements for enterprise-grade pricing operations.
- Engineering Leadership: Provide technical leadership to engineering teams, guide implementation standards, review designs, support backlog refinement and ensure delivery quality across architecture, development and testing activities.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate complex architectural topics clearly to senior stakeholders, business teams, technology leadership and vendors, ensuring decisions are well documented and aligned across teams.

Your skills and experience

- Experience:
- 13+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, solution architecture or enterprise architecture, preferably within banking, financial services or large-scale regulated environments.
- Strong experience designing and delivering enterprise platforms, decision engines, rule engines, pricing platforms, product configuration systems or comparable business-critical services.
- Proven experience leading architecture and engineering workstreams across business requirements, solution design, vendor evaluation, implementation planning and delivery governance.

- Technical Skills:

- Strong understanding of rule engines, decisioning platforms, pricing configuration, workflow orchestration, parameter management, simulation and audit-trace mechanisms.
- Expertise in API design, microservices architecture, event-driven integration, enterprise integration patterns and secure service-to-service communication.
- Hands-on experience with Java, Python or comparable enterprise engineering stacks, and modern web/API frameworks such as Spring Boot, FastAPI or similar.
- Experience with data modelling, reference data, product data, customer/relationship data, pricing inputs, pricing outputs and trace data required for regulated financial services platforms.
- Good understanding of integration with core banking, CRM, channels, campaign management, risk, finance, Treasury/FTP and downstream servicing platforms.

- Cloud, Infrastructure and Data Architecture:

- Experience designing cloud-ready or hybrid enterprise architectures using container platforms, managed databases, messaging,

observability and secure deployment patterns.
- Strong understanding of scalability, performance, latency, high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring, logging and operational resilience requirements.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code and CI/CD practices for controlled, repeatable and compliant deployments.

- Architecture Governance and Delivery:

- Ability to produce architecture decision records, target architecture views, integration diagrams, NFR documentation, delivery roadmaps and implementation options.
- Experience supporting procurement, RFI/RFP, vendor assessment, proof-of-concept, demo evaluation and make-versus-buy decision processes.

- Banking Domain and Controls:

- Strong understanding of banking products such as deposits, accounts, cards, lending, mortgages, wealth lending or investments, with specific experience in pricing, fees, interest rates, concessions or product configuration preferred.
- Understanding of governance, auditability, segregation of duties, regulatory traceability, data privacy, IAM and security requirements in financial services.

- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

- Exceptional analytical and strategic problem-solving abilities, with the ability to structure complex pricing, architecture and delivery challenges into clear solution options.
- Ability to make informed trade-off decisions across functional fit, architecture fit, cost, delivery risk, compliance and long-term maintainability.

- Core Competencies:

- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence business, technology, architecture and vendor stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid presentation and documentation skills for creating architecture packs, RFP inputs, decision papers, solution options and executive-ready summaries.
- Structured delivery mindset with the ability to manage multiple workstreams across requirements, architecture, vendor assessment and implementation planning.
- Commercial awareness and ability to assess solution options through the lenses of time-to-value, total cost of ownership, implementation complexity and operational sustainability.

- Team Leadership and Mentorship:

- Technical Guidance: Lead and mentor engineers and architects, providing guidance on architecture decisions, integration design, coding standards, testing approach and delivery quality.
- Delivery Enablement: Support teams in converting architecture into executable backlogs, clarifying dependencies, resolving technical blockers and aligning implementation with target architecture.
- Knowledge Sharing: Build domain knowledge within the team on pricing processes, banking products, governance controls and integration patterns relevant to the Central Pricing Engine.

- Experience in Banking, Private Bank, Retail Banking, Wealth Management, product pricing, decisioning, rule engines or core banking transformation is strongly preferred.
