Job Title: Planning Lead (Marine)

Location: Anywhere South & East India

Reports to: Project Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly articulate Planning manager to take full ownership of

project planning, scheduling, and progress control for marine construction projects.

This role is critical in a growing department, requiring an individual who:

Ensures accurate, reliable, and transparent project schedules

Acts as a control function over site execution, not just a reporting function

Is confident in challenging assumptions and driving accountability

Communicates clearly and professionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

The Planning Manager will work closely with site teams to ensure that planning reflects reality and

drives performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Planning & Scheduling Ownership

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (Level 3 / Level 4)

Establish Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) aligned with project scope

Define activity sequencing, logic, and dependencies

Identify and monitor the critical path

2. Progress Monitoring & Control

Track actual progress against planned schedules

Validate site-reported progress through independent checks

Identify deviations early and quantify impact

3. Delay Analysis & Recovery Planning

Analyse delays and identify root causes

Develop and implement recovery plans

Evaluate impact on project timelines and milestones

4. Reporting & Communication

Prepare clear, accurate, and concise progress reports (daily, weekly, monthly)

Communicate schedule status, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders

Present planning updates to senior management and clients

5. Coordination with Execution Teams

Work closely with construction teams to ensure alignment between plan and

execution





Challenge unrealistic assumptions and timelines

Ensure planning supports efficient resource utilization

6. Commercial & Contract Awareness

Support claims and extension of time (EOT) analysis

Understand contractual implications of delays

Integrate planning with cost control and project performance

7. Data Integrity & Quality Control

Ensure accuracy and consistency of planning data

Implement checks and validation processes for schedules and reports

Maintain proper documentation and version control

Key Skills & Competencies:

Bachelor s degree in civil engineering and 10 15 years of experience in project planning

within construction or infrastructure

Experience in marine, civil, or heavy infrastructure projects preferred

Proven experience in:

o Schedule development and management

o Resource loading

o Progress tracking and reporting, including generation of S-curves

o Delay analysis and recovery planning

Proficiency in planning tools such as Primavera P6 and/or MS Project

Strong understanding of:

o WBS development

o Scheduling logic and dependencies

o Critical path analysis
