Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Consultant to join our growing Business Applications practice. The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise in Dynamics 365 Business Central, excellent understanding of ERP business processes, and proven experience delivering end-to-end implementations and transformation projects.

The Senior Consultant will work closely with clients, business stakeholders, solution architects, developers, and project managers to understand business requirements, design scalable Business Central solutions, lead functional implementations, and ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements

Lead discovery and requirements-gathering workshops with clients and key stakeholders.

Understand current business processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements using Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Translate business requirements into functional solutions and detailed specifications.

Create business process maps, functional requirement documents, user stories, and solution documentation.

Advise clients on Business Central capabilities and recommend standard functionality wherever possible.

Business Central Implementation

Lead or participate in end-to-end Dynamics 365 Business Central implementations.

Configure and implement Business Central across relevant functional areas, including:

Financial Management

General Ledger

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

Cash Management and Bank Reconciliation

Fixed Assets

Sales

Purchasing

Inventory

Warehouse Management

Jobs / Project Management

Manufacturing

Planning and Supply Chain

Configure workflows, approvals, dimensions, posting groups, number series, user roles, and other core Business Central functionality.

Support localization and country-specific requirements where applicable.





Ensure solutions follow Microsoft and industry best practices.

Functional Solution Design

Design scalable solutions that meet business requirements while minimizing unnecessary customization.

Identify gaps between standard Business Central functionality and client requirements.

Work with technical consultants/developers to define extensions, customizations, reports, integrations, and interfaces.

Review functional designs and validate technical solutions against business requirements.

Support integration requirements involving Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Dynamics 365, third-party applications, banking systems, payment platforms, and other business systems.

Data Migration & Testing

Support data migration strategy, mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation.

Define migration requirements and work with technical teams on data migration activities.

Develop functional test scenarios and test cases.

Conduct System Integration Testing (SIT) and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Identify, analyze, and resolve functional defects.

Validate system configuration and business processes before deployment.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Act as a trusted functional advisor to clients throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Conduct solution demonstrations and product walkthroughs.

Communicate complex ERP concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Manage functional discussions, issues, risks, dependencies, and change requests.

Support project managers and solution architects in planning and delivery activities.

Training & Post-Go-Live Support

Develop training materials, process documentation, and user guides.

Conduct end-user training and knowledge-transfer sessions.

Provide functional support during deployment and post-go-live stabilization.





Troubleshoot production issues and recommend sustainable solutions.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization.

Team & Delivery Leadership

Mentor junior consultants and functional team members.

Review functional deliverables for quality and completeness.

Collaborate with developers, architects, project managers, and other consultants.

Contribute to estimation, project planning, solution design, and implementation methodology.

Participate in pre-sales activities, including demonstrations, solution presentations, effort estimation, and proposal development when required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

8+ years of experience working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Strong experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central implementations and upgrades.

Solid understanding of ERP business processes and functional configuration.

Hands-on experience with multiple Business Central modules, particularly Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, and Supply Chain.

Experience gathering requirements and translating them into functional specifications.

Experience working with Business Central technical/development teams.

Strong understanding of data migration, testing, UAT, deployment, and post-go-live support.

Excellent client-facing and communication skills.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum or structured ERP implementation methodologies.

Preferred Technical Knowledge

Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central.

AL extensions and Business Central extension architecture.

Microsoft Power Platform.

Power Automate and Power BI.

Microsoft 365 integrations.

Business Central APIs and web services.

Third-party integrations and middleware.

Banking and payment integrations.

Reporting and analytics.

Data migration tools and methodologies.

Understanding of Azure-based integrations is a plus.

Exposure to Business Central Copilot and AI capabilities is a plus.

Preferred Certifications

Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate.

Other Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Power Platform certifications are a plus.
