nProtexia Systems is looking for a highly capable Lead Embedded Systems Engineer to lead the development of advanced electronic control systems for our aerospace and defence technology programmes.n

nThe selected engineer will be responsible for developing a compact, intelligent and highly reliable embedded control unit integrating:n

nSensors + Microcontrollers + Actuators + Precision Control + Real-Time Firmware + Safety & Fault Monitoringn

nThis is a hands-on product-development role involving complete system ownership — from component selection and prototype development to firmware, hardware integration, testing and productisation.n
n
nWe are specifically looking for an engineer who is comfortable working at the intersection of:n

nEmbedded Electronics + Firmware + Sensors + Mechatronics + Precision Fluid/Pneumatic Controln

nKey Responsibilitiesn
n
n• Define the overall embedded electronics and control-system architecture.n
n
n• Select and integrate suitable microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, communication systems and electronic components.n
n
n• Develop real-time embedded firmware using C/C++.n
n
n• Develop control algorithms for precision regulation of electromechanical and pneumatic systems.n
n
n• Interface and control proportional valves, solenoid valves, pumps, motors and other electronic actuators.n
n
n• Integrate pressure, differential-pressure, flow, temperature, environmental and other analogue/digital sensors.n
n
n• Develop closed-loop control systems using real-time sensor feedback.n
n
n• Develop algorithms for demand-based and condition-dependent actuator control.n
n
n• Implement sensor fusion, signal conditioning, filtering and calibration algorithms.n
n
n• Develop system startup self-tests and continuous system-health monitoring.n
n
n• Implement fault detection, diagnostics and fail-secure operating modes.n
n
n• Develop watchdog systems and sensor plausibility checks.n
n
n• Implement redundant monitoring and safety-critical control logic where required.n

n• Develop power-monitoring and power-management functions.n
n
n• Interface embedded controllers with displays, indicators, switches, buzzers and other HMI components.n

n• Perform sensor and actuator characterisation and calibration.n

n• Develop laboratory test rigs for evaluating control-system performance.n

n• Conduct real-time testing of pressure, flow, response time, transient behaviour and control accuracy.n

n• Perform fault-injection testing and validate system behaviour during abnormal operating conditions.n

n• Support EMI/EMC, environmental, vibration, temperature and reliability testing.n

n• Maintain firmware documentation, architecture documentation, engineering drawings, test reports and revision control.n

n• Lead the transition from laboratory prototype to a ruggedised, production-ready aerospace/defence product.n
