Position Overview
- Job Title: Associate / Assistant manager - Transaction Reporting
- Department: Asset Management – Investment Operations
- Location: Chennai
- Business Line / Function: Reporting Production Analyst – Regulatory Transaction Reporting (EMIR Refit, SFTR, MiFID II, ASIC Rewrite)
Position Purpose:
Execute day‑to‑day regulatory transaction reporting across EU and UK jurisdictions (EMIR Refit, SFTR, MiFID II) and ASIC Rewrite. Serve as the first‑line defence to ensure accurate, complete and timely submission to Trade Repositories or Approved Reporting Mechanisms, while overseeing outsourced reporting providers and delegated broker reports.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Oversight & Monitoring of Outsourced Reporting (EMIR EU/UK, ASIC)
- Monitor daily production and submission status of the 3rd‑party service provider (SP).
- Validate SP controls, reconcile internal trades against SP reports, and track escalations or SLA breaches.
- Maintain audit evidence and act as the primary SP point‑of‑contact.
2. Daily Trade & Transaction Reporting (SFTR & MiFID II – EU/UK)
- Produce and submit all reportable trades within regulatory deadlines.
- Monitor platforms and intraday flows, validate post‑submission content, and ensure final acceptance by the Trade Repository or ARM/APA.
3. Rejections & Exceptions Remediation
- Investigate NACKs and other exceptions; identify root causes (data quality, mapping, reference data, timing).
- Amend and resubmit corrected reports within the required jurisdictional timeframes.
- Keep a detailed audit trail of all remediation actions.
4. Daily & Monthly Reconciliation
- Perform daily reconciliation for SFTR and MiFID II (EU/UK) and reconcile internal data against SP output for EMIR and ASIC.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations to confirm consistency between source data and submitted data.
- Document results and escalate any unresolved breaks with a clear resolution plan.
5. Oversight of Delegated EMIR Reporting on ETD (Clearing Brokers)
- Validate the completeness and timeliness of broker‑submitted reports.
- Engage brokers to correct discrepancies, track issues and retain audit evidence.

Pairing & Matching
- Resolve unpaired or unmatched transactions; manage UTI processing in line with internal procedures.
- Monitor pairing and matching rates as a key quality indicator.
7. Reporting to RTR Team
- Produce daily dashboards covering volumes, pairing/matching rates, acceptance, rejections and remediation.
- Highlight emerging issues, trends and risks in a structured manner.
8. Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing
- Identify and escalate recurring issues; keep procedures, run‑books and knowledge base up‑to‑date.
- Cross‑train team members to maintain full interchangeability.
- Stay current with regulatory changes and contribute to impact assessments.
Required Skills & Experience (must have):
- Regulatory Reporting Experience: Minimum (Associate - 3-6 years)
- ( Assistant Manager 7- 11 years) in regulatory transaction reporting within financial services (asset‑management or sell‑side).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of reporting mechanics (submission lifecycles, ACK/NACK handling, UTI, pairing‑matching, lifecycle events) and proficiency in at least one regime (EMIR Refit, SFTR, MiFID II, ASIC Rewrite) with a willingness to master all four.
- Outsourced‑Provider Oversight: Proven ability to monitor, challenge and review controls and SLAs of an external reporting provider.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel (pivot tables, look‑ups, conditional logic) for reconciliation and reporting.
- Analytical & Investigative Skills: Strong root‑cause analysis of data‑quality issues.
- Communication: Ability to translate technical issues into transparent messages for the RTR team and senior management; capable of producing presentations and KPI reports.
- Team Interchangeability:
Support colleagues through documentation, knowledge sharing and active collaboration.
- Behavioral Skills: Active listening, adaptability, knowledge sharing and meticulous attention to details
Preferred Education, Skills & Experience :
- Regulatory Regimes: Working knowledge of two or more of the following – EMIR Refit, SFTR, MiFID II, ASIC Rewrite.
- Reporting Platforms: Hands‑on experience with Aladdin, TRAX (ARM/APA), Tri‑Optima, DTCC or IHS Markit.
- Additional Technical Tools: Familiarity with automated reconciliation or data‑quality tools (e.g., Python‑based scripting, SQL) – advantageous but not mandatory.
