Position: Design Engineer - Vessels

Total Experience: 7-10 years of relevant experience

Education: Diploma / ITI (Mechanical)

Location: Ahmedabad

Role Purpose:

The Vessels Designer is responsible for preparing detailed engineering drawings and 3D models for pressure vessels, atmospheric tanks, ladders, and platforms used in industrial and water treatment projects. The role involves preparing fabrication drawings, developing BOMs, coordinating with engineering teams, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry codes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare technical GA drawings, fabrication drawings, internals drawings, lifting and transportation drawings, and assembly drawings for static equipment using AutoCAD.
- Update and revise drawings based on design changes, engineering inputs, or project modifications.
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOM) and fabrication instructions, including details related to materials and welding requirements.
- Prepare and update GA and fabrication drawings for ladders and platforms associated with static equipment.
- Ensure that all drawings comply with relevant industry standards, design codes, and customer specifications.
- Perform 3D modeling of equipment, ladders, and platforms using Autodesk Plant 3D or similar design software when required.




- Work closely with vessel engineers and mechanical engineers to ensure designs are technically accurate, cost-effective, and compliant with project specifications.
- Provide technical assistance to fabrication shops and site teams during equipment fabrication and installation.
- Review drawings and 3D models in line with ISO quality requirements.
- Coordinate with the piping engineering team to finalize equipment nozzle orientations and ensure clash-free designs.
- Work with engineers to resolve shop and site fabrication or installation issues.
- Visit fabrication shops or project sites when required to support design clarification and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical guidance to junior designers and drafters.
- Support the Applications / Proposal team with design inputs, BOQs, and estimation during FEED phases.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and customers.

Must-Have Skills

- • Solid experience in AutoCAD drafting for pressure vessels or static equipment.
- • Ability to prepare GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings.
- • Knowledge of static equipment components such as ladders, platforms, nozzles, and internals.
- • Experience generating Bills of Materials (BOM) from engineering drawings.
- • Familiarity with 3D modeling tools such as Autodesk Plant 3D.
- • Understanding of fabrication processes, welding details, and shop drawings.
- • Experience coordinating with piping and mechanical engineering teams.
- • Knowledge of ISO drawing control and documentation standards.

Good-to-Have Skills:

- Experience working on pressure vessels or storage tanks in EPC or industrial plant projects.
- Exposure to water treatment plant engineering.
- Experience supporting fabrication shops and site installation activities.
- Experience guiding junior designers or drafting teams.
