Job Description

The opportunity As a Data Operations Apprentice Engineer on the Data Operations Management team, you will learn how our systems work end to end and support daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc data builds and operations. You will focus on meeting SLAs for data refresh, data management, and ETL by following schedules, proactively monitoring, and communicating clearly with clients and senior team members. You will also leverage entry-level AI tools and assistants—under guidance—to streamline monitoring, detect anomalies, document processes, and accelerate troubleshooting.

Key activities:

- Monitor and trigger data build loads; run ETL processes; perform FTP cleanup, archiving, and retention, using dashboards and AI-assisted alerts where appropriate.
- Follow documented procedures for daily, weekly, monthly,



and periodic data refreshes; use AI tools to validate checklists and flag deviations.
- Monitor and maintain data quality using business rules and anomaly detection; triage issues and escalate as needed.
- Work with the Data Operations Support team to meet multiple clients’ data refresh schedules and ensure application data availability; use AI to summarize logs and metrics for explicit status updates.
- Partner with the data operations team to understand application management activities; apply AI assistants to help draft runbooks, incident notes, and user communications.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting simple automation scripts or prompt-based workflows; help label incidents and outcomes to improve monitoring models.

What will you bring?

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of databases, ETL processes, and data management concepts.
- Ability to learn and adopt new systems quickly.
- Basic computing skills, especially in Linux, scripting, and SQL; willingness to learn Python is a plus.
- Curiosity about AI in operations: experience using AI copilots or chat assistants to write queries, troubleshoot scripts, create documentation, or summarize logs; basic prompt-writing skills are a plus.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
