Role Overview

n

SafeTree is hiring a PHP / AWS Developer to build and maintain the applications and cloud infrastructure behind our platform — a hands-on engineer equally comfortable in code and in the AWS console, who can take a feature from requirement to production.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
n
- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using PHP, CodeIgniter, and Node.js.
n
- Build and maintain REST APIs, backend services, and third-party integrations.
n
- Design and optimise MySQL/PostgreSQL databases and queries.
n
- Own assigned modules/features end-to-end, from development through deployment.
n
- Deploy and manage applications on AWS — EC2, RDS, SNS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, ALB.
n
- Administer Linux/Ubuntu servers: deployments,



web server config, SSL, DNS, monitoring.
n
- Participate in code reviews and uphold coding, security, and documentation standards.
n
- Troubleshoot issues across application, database, API, server, and AWS layers.
n
- Use AI coding tools (Copilot, Claude, Cursor) to accelerate development, then validate and secure AI-generated code before release.

What We're Looking For

n

n
- 4–6 years of hands-on PHP development, with experience in CodeIgniter or similar.
n
- Strong, hands-on AWS experience — EC2, RDS, SNS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, ALB.
n
- Experience deploying and managing PHP applications on AWS EC2 and Linux servers.
n
- Strong experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
n
- Good hands-on experience with Node.js and backend/API development.
n
- Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID, design patterns, REST APIs, security, and scalable architecture.
n
- Experience with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows.
n
- Strong experience with AI-assisted development tools and vibe-coding workflows.
n
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and ownership skills.
n
- Docker, CI/CD, and AWS certification are a plus.
n
