Position Overview:

n

Element5 is looking for a highly motivated, technically exceptional Senior Software

n

Engineer with deep expertise in Java/J2EE based microservices to join our support

n

team.

n

This role is ideal for professionals who don't just patch issues, but thrive on

n

troubleshooting complex distributed system architectures, analyzing deep application

n

logs, and collaborating closely with Technical Architects and Core Engineering to ensure

n

permanent system reliability, scalability, and performance.

n

The ideal candidate must possess advanced code-level debugging skills, a proactive

n

site-reliability mindset, and a willingness to work in a 24/7 rotational shift

n

environment, including night shifts.

What Your Role Will Look Like

n

You will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, availability, and smooth functioning of

n

mission-critical healthcare automation platforms.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

Advanced Engineering & Code-Level Resolution

n

● Directly implement code-level enhancements, bug fixes,



and stability patches

n

to address underlying issues in Java-based microservices applications.

n

● Go beyond surface-level fixes to analyze complex system behaviors,

n

collaborating with Technical Architects to evaluate deep-tech infrastructure flaws

n

contributing to recurring outages.

n

● Collaborate with development and architecture teams to design more

n

scalable, data-driven analytical solutions based on production-floor insights.

n

Incident Management & Production Support

n

● Monitor and support production applications and services to troubleshoot and

n

resolve production issues within defined SLAs.

n

- Analyze application logs and debug Java-based microservices applications.
n
- Work comprehensively on incident management, problem management, and
n

n

service requests.

n

n
- Escalate critical production issues backed by detailed technical analysis.
n
- Participate in deployment validations and production monitoring activities.
n
- Ensure timely communication and transparent status updates during critical
n

n

incidents.

n

Operational Excellence, Best Practices & Mentorship

n

● Drive the adoption of best practices around incident logging, troubleshooting,

n

coding, quality, and runbook updates across teams.

n

● Perform thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents and

n

outages to drive permanent problem resolution.

n

- Continuously identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
n
- Coordinate seamlessly with development, DevOps, QA, and infrastructure teams
n

n

for cross-functional issue resolution.

n

● Create and maintain comprehensive knowledge base articles,



troubleshooting

guides, and support documentation.

n

Technical Skills Required:

n

n
- Strong experience in Java/J2EE and debugging Java-based microservices.
n
- Profound experience in analyzing logs, debugging complex system behaviors,
n

n

and troubleshooting production issues.

n

● Hands-on experience with production monitoring and observability tools (e.g.,

n

Datadog or similar) and ticketing systems.

n

● Strong knowledge of SQL and database querying; familiarity with large-scale

n

data systems (e.g., MongoDB, ElasticSearch) and distributed caching (e.g.,

n

Redis).

n

● Good understanding of application deployment, release processes, and cloud

n

environments (AWS).● Solid DevOps knowledge and experience with CI/CD tools, containerization,

n

and orchestration (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) is a major advantage.

n

● Familiarity with workflow tools like Airflow, Temporal, or similar is a plus.

n

What We Are Looking For:

● 4–6 years of experience in Application/Production Support or Development with

n

a strong lean toward production engineering.

n

● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical software

n

engineering experience.

n

● Sound knowledge of Design patterns and SOLID Design Principles to

n

ensure code-level patches and fixes are robust and scalable.

n

● Excellent debugging, root-cause analysis (RCA), and incident-handling

n

capabilities.

n

● The ability to "over-communicate" with exceptional articulation and

n

stakeholder management skills during high-pressure outages.

n

● An enhanced curiosity and a passion for automation—always looking for

modern ways to solve legacy system problems.
