About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable Deputy Principal Associate with 7 - 8 years of post-qualification experience and robust expertise in litigation, dispute resolution and data privacy, particularly under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in independently handling litigation matters, drafting pleadings and legal documents, appearing before courts and tribunals, and advising clients on contentious and regulatory matters. Exposure to data protection, privacy, technology laws and DPDP compliance is essential.

Key Responsibilities
Advise clients on the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable rules and regulations.
Assist clients in developing and implementing data privacy and data protection frameworks and compliance programs.
Review and draft privacy policies, data processing agreements, data protection clauses, consent notices, data sharing agreements and related documentation.
Advise on obligations of data fiduciaries and data processors, including consent, notice, data processing, retention and security requirements.
Assist in assessing and managing data breaches,



privacy incidents and regulatory risks.
Conduct privacy and data protection audits and gap assessments and provide actionable recommendations.
Advise on data protection requirements in commercial transactions, employment arrangements, technology agreements and vendor contracts.
Monitor developments in Indian data protection and privacy law and advise clients on their potential impact.

Desired Skills & Competencies
78 years of post-qualification experience from a reputed law firm, chambers or established legal practice.
Solid and demonstrable experience in litigation and dispute resolution.
Practical understanding and hands-on exposure to the DPDP Act, 2023 and data privacy laws.
Excellent drafting, legal research and analytical skills.
Ability to independently handle matters and take ownership of assignments.
Solid court craft and understanding of litigation strategy and procedures.
Excellent communication and client-management skills.
Ability to work under tight timelines and manage multiple matters simultaneously.
