Job Description

Role Overview: We are looking for a Software Development Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of experience in developing and maintaining backend systems using Python. The ideal candidate should have expertise in FastAPI or Flask and be capable of building scalable, high-performance applications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaboration: Work closely with frontend developers and product managers to develop current features.

- Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented Python code following best practices.
n
- Optimization: Improve system performance, scalability, and maintainability.
n
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve backend issues efficiently.
n
- Learning & Growth: Participate in code reviews and collaborate with senior developers for continuous improvement.
n
- Innovation: Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend enhancements.
n
- AI-Augmented Development: Use AI coding assistants (Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) to accelerate development, generate boilerplate, write tests, and speed up debugging — while applying sound engineering judgment to review, refine, and own every line that ships.

Qualifications:

Required:

n

- Experience: Minimum 3 years of backend development using Python with FastAPI or Flask.
n
- Strong knowledge of Python and its backend frameworks (FastAPI, Flask).
n
- Understanding of asynchronous programming, REST APIs, and web services.
n
- Knowledge of rate limiting, pagination,



and different REST API authentication mechanisms is a must.
n
- Experience integrating with third-party tools such as HubSpot, Zoho Books, or similar platforms, but not limited to these.
n
- AI-Assisted Development: Comfortable working with AI-assisted coding tools (Claude, Copilot, Cursor, or equivalent) as part of the modern development workflow — for code generation, refactoring, documentation, and test writing.
n
- Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Redis.
n
- Proficiency with Git and version control systems.
n
- Experience with testing frameworks such as PyTest or Unittest.
n
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
n
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and debugging skills.
n

Preferred:

- Containerization: Experience with Docker and familiarity with Kubernetes.
n
- Microservices & Messaging: Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems. Familiarity with tools like RabbitMQ or Kafka is good to have but not mandatory.

- Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile/Scrum frameworks..

Collaboration and communication: Proactive monitoring and collaboration with team members and internal departments are necessary to guarantee seamless operations at the Centre.

How the role Interact with other teams or Individuals: Ensure effective communication and coordination between different cross functional teams to align the technology function with overall business goals.
