Senior Guidewire Engineer (Policy Center & Billing Center)

Position Overview

n

We are seeking an experienced Senior Guidewire Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in both Policy Center and Billing Center. This individual will play a critical role in designing, configuring, and integrating Guidewire solutions that support enterprise insurance operations.

n

The ideal candidate has deep configuration and integration experience, strong Java fundamentals, and a disciplined approach to engineering, including Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Key Responsibilities

n

n

Guidewire Development & Configuration

n

1.Design and implement solutions in PolicyCenter and BillingCenter

n

2.Perform configuration work including:

n

n
- Product Model changes
n
- PCF/UI enhancements
n
- Business Rules
n
- Workflows
n
- Batch processes
n

n

3.Customize and extend Guidewire applications using Gosu

n

n

Integration Development

n

1.Build and maintain integrations using:

n

n
- Guidewire Integration Framework
n
- REST and SOAP services
n
- Messaging systems (where applicable)
n

n

2.Develop and maintain backend services using Java

n

3.Ensure secure and scalable integration patterns

n

n

Engineering Best Practices

n

n
- Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices
n




- Maintain strong unit test coverage
n
- Participate in peer code reviews
n
- Follow clean code and OOP design principles
n
- Support production troubleshooting and root cause analysis
n

n

Collaboration & Delivery

n

n
- Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA, and DevOps teams
n
- Translate business requirements into technical design
n
- Contribute to architectural discussions and technical planning
n
- Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies
n

n

n

Required Qualifications

n

1.5+ years of hands-on Guidewire development experience

n

2.Strong experience in both:

n

n
- PolicyCenter
n
- BillingCenter
n

n

3.Active Guidewire Certifications:

n

n
- PolicyCenter (Associate or ACE preferred)
n
- BillingCenter (Associate or ACE preferred)
n

n

4.Solid understanding of:

n

n
- Java
n
- Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
n
- Design patterns
n

n

5.Experience developing and consuming REST APIs

n

6.Experience with unit testing frameworks (JUnit or similar)

n

7.Experience working in Agile environments

n

n

Preferred Qualifications

- Guidewire Cloud experience
n
- CI/CD pipeline knowledge
n
- Messaging platforms (Kafka, JMS, etc.)
