A Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) Manager in an Ayurvedic manufacturing unit oversees safety, testing, and regulatory compliance for herbal medicines, oils, and formulations.
Role Overview The QC/QA Manager combines laboratory testing with quality systems management to ensure that raw herbs and finished products meet legal and therapeutic standards.
Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance (QA)
System Management: Build and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
Compliance: Ensure adherence to AYUSH guidelines, Ayurvedic GMP (Valuable Manufacturing Practices), and ISO standards.
Documentation: Review and approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR), and Master Formula Records (MFR).
Audits: Lead internal audits and prepare the facility for external regulatory inspections.
Corrective Actions: Investigate deviations and manage Corrective and Preventive Actions
Quality Control (QC)
Material Testing: Inspect and test raw herbs,
packaging materials, in-process goods, and finished Ayurvedic products.
Lab Oversight: Supervise daily lab operations and calibrate instruments like HPTLC (High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography) and UV-Vis spectrophotometers.
Batch Release: Approve or reject raw materials and sign off on finished product batches.
Stability Studies: Monitor product shelf-life and microbiological limits.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: B.Sc / M.Sc in Chemistry, Botany, or B.Pharm/M.Pharm in Ayurveda (Ayu).
Experience: 7 to 10 years in quality control or assurance within an herbal, Ayurvedic, or pharmaceutical setup.
Skills: Solid knowledge of AYUSH regulations, herbal extraction standards, documentation, and team leadership
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,035.28 per month
