CNC Setter - Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Set up and prepare CNC machines (turning, milling, or multi-axis machines)
Install and secure cutting tools, fixtures, and attachments
Load and input CNC programs into machine controllers
Adjust machine offsets, speeds, and feeds
Conduct trial runs and make necessary adjustments
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical blueprints
Inspect first-off parts using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
Monitor machine performance during production
Troubleshoot machining issues and make corrections
Maintain accurate production and quality records
Follow health and safety regulations

Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a CNC Setter or similar role
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Knowledge of CNC programming basics (e.g., G-code)
Robust understanding of machining processes




Familiarity with quality control procedures
Experience using precision measuring instruments
Good problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Technical qualification or apprenticeship in machining (preferred)
