Essential Qualifications & Experience

Experience
Minimum 8+ years of experience in database development, administration, and management of large-scale operational and analytical databases.
Proven expertise in database design, data modeling, SQL query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience in designing and managing production-grade databases including:
PostgreSQL/PostGIS
MySQL
Oracle Database
MongoDB
Cassandra
Robust experience working with ETL/ELT processes, data integration frameworks, and workflow automation.
Experience with cloud database platforms such as:
AWS RDS
Amazon Aurora
Azure SQL Database
Google Cloud SQL
Exposure to Python or R for data processing, automation, and analytics workflows.
Experience managing large-volume datasets, preferably within geospatial, remote sensing, satellite imagery, or IoT settings.
Prior experience working on Government, Public Sector, Smart City, GIS, or large enterprise projects is highly preferred.




Working knowledge of containerized environments and DevOps practices using technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Domain Knowledge
Understanding of geospatial data structures, coordinate reference systems (CRS), projections, and spatial indexing techniques.
Familiarity with OGC, ISO metadata standards, and spatial database best practices.
Knowledge of database security, high availability, disaster recovery, and compliance frameworks.

Certifications (Mandatory/Preferred)

Relevant certifications in one or more of the following areas are preferred:
PostgreSQL Certified Qualified
Oracle Database Administration Certification
Microsoft Azure Database Certifications
AWS Database Specialty Certification
MongoDB Certified Developer/DBA
Cloud or DevOps-related certifications
