Performing examinations: Conduct echocardiograms (transthoracic, transesophageal, stress) following established protocols to assess the heart's structure, function, and blood flow.
Equipment operation: Operate and maintain specialized ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and in positive working order to produce accurate images.
Image analysis and reporting: Capture high-quality images and analyze echocardiographic data. Prepare preliminary reports with findings for review by a supervising cardiologist.
Record keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and test results.
Collaboration: Work with cardiologists, physicians, and other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care.

Required skills and qualifications
Education: Typically requires an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in medical sonography or a related field.
Certification: Certification such as Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) is often required.
Technical skills: Proficient in operating and troubleshooting echocardiography equipment.
