Role Summary
The Pre-Primary Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment for children aged 2.5 – 6 years, fostering their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development through age-appropriate, play-based learning.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood curriculum frameworks (e.g., play-based, Finland way curriculum).
Create a warm, protected, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
Monitor and document each child's developmental progress (cognitive, motor, social-emotional, language skills).
Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and milestones.
Organize and conduct activities such as storytelling, arts and crafts, music, movement, and outdoor play.
Manage classroom behavior using positive discipline techniques.
Maintain classroom hygiene, safety, and organization of learning materials.
Collaborate with co-teachers, teaching assistants,
and school staff for smooth classroom operations.
Prepare children for basic school readiness skills (pre-writing, pre-reading, numeracy concepts).
Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and staff training sessions.
Identify and flag any developmental concerns to parents/coordinators for early intervention.
Requirements
Education:
Graduate, Diploma/Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), B.Ed/D.El.Ed, or equivalent.
Experience:
2 – 3 years of experience teaching pre-primary/nursery-level children Skills:
Robust understanding of child psychology and early childhood development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
Basic computer skills for maintaining records/reports.
Ability to manage a classroom of 15 – 25 young children with support staff.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
