Role

We are looking for a Tax Lawyer Trainee to assist our Tax Litigation & Departmental Representation team in handling Income Tax, GST and Customs-related assessment and departmental matters.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in handling Income Tax and GST notices, assessments and litigation matters.

Research applicable laws, rules, notifications, circulars and case laws.

Assist in drafting replies, submissions, applications and other departmental correspondence.

Coordinate with clients for information, documents and factual clarifications.

Assist senior professionals in departmental hearings and assessment proceedings.

Handle routine follow-ups and liaison with Income Tax, GST and Customs authorities.

Maintain case files, hearing records, submission records and litigation trackers.

Ensure timely follow-up on notices, hearings and statutory/departmental deadlines.





Gradually take independent responsibility for routine matters under the guidance of senior professionals.

Candidate Profile

LLB / LLM from a recognised institution.

0–2 years of experience in tax litigation, CA/law firm, tax consultancy or departmental representation preferred.

Solid interest in Income Tax, GST and Customs.

Positive legal research, drafting and communication skills.

Comfortable interacting with clients and government authorities.

Willingness to travel/visit government departments as required.
