About the Role

The Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Grade 5 Homeroom Teacher to join our Junior School.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the overall teaching and learning of a Grade 5 class and deliver engaging, inquiry-based learning aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based and transdisciplinary learning experiences.
Teach Mathematics, English, Science and Social Studies as part of the Grade 5 programme.
Develop and deliver Units of Inquiry aligned with the IB PYP.
Promote student voice, choice, agency and ownership of learning.
Assess and monitor student progress and use assessment data to inform planning and differentiation.
Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
Support students' academic, social and emotional development.
Collaborate with colleagues on planning, curriculum development and student support.
Maintain effective communication with students,



parents and colleagues.
Contribute to co-curricular activities, field trips, school events and wider school life.
Integrate Aga Khan Academy values and strands into teaching and learning.
Participate in professional development and ongoing IB/PYP learning.

Candidate Profile

Essential
Bachelors degree in Education or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching in a primary school; IB PYP experience is preferred.
Robust spoken and written English communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team-oriented team.
Commitment to inquiry-based and student-centred learning.
Solid classroom management and student engagement skills.

Desirable
IB PYP training or certification.
Experience teaching Grade 5 or upper primary.
Relevant Masters degree.
Experience in an international school environment.
