Job Description - Offshore Fabricator
Profile:
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out fabrication and assembly activities for offshore structures, piping systems, decks, platforms, supports, and heavy steel components.
Perform marking, cutting, beveling, grinding, fit-up, and alignment activities as per approved drawings and project specifications.
Execute fabrication jobs in compliance with offshore welding standards and positional requirements such as 2G, 3G, and 4G.
Ensure dimensional accuracy, structural alignment, and quality of fabricated components before welding and erection.
Interpret fabrication drawings and coordinate with welding and erection teams for smooth project execution.
Operate and handle fabrication tools and equipment including gas cutting machines, grinders, magnetic drills, and measuring instruments.
Support offshore and marine project execution teams during installation, modification, repair, and retrofit activities.
Follow all safety procedures, toolbox talks, permit-to-work systems,
and site HSE guidelines during fabrication operations.
Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspection clearances, fit-up approvals, and fabrication quality checks.
Maintain productivity targets and ensure timely completion of fabrication activities within project schedules.
Assist in material handling, identification, and proper storage of fabricated structures and components at the yard/site.
Report fabrication issues, material shortages, and technical deviations to supervisors for corrective action.
