Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled VMC Operator to operate and monitor Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines for accurate machining of components as per engineering drawings and production requirements. The candidate will be responsible for machine setup, tool handling, dimensional inspection, and maintaining quality and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operate VMC machines for machining various components as per drawings and specifications.
Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and machining instructions.
Perform machine setup, workpiece loading/unloading, tool setting, and job alignment.
Load and execute CNC/VMC programs and make necessary offset corrections.
Select and change cutting tools as required.
Check first-piece and in-process dimensions using vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge,



bore gauge, and other measuring instruments.
Ensure components are produced within specified tolerances and quality standards.
Monitor machine performance and identify abnormal sounds, vibrations, tool wear, or machining issues.
Make minor adjustments to cutting parameters and offsets as required.
Maintain proper housekeeping and follow 5S practices on the shop floor.
Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
Maintain production records, inspection reports, and machine-related documentation.
Coordinate with the Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Tool Room teams to resolve machining issues.
Minimize rejection, rework, tool consumption, and machine downtime.
Carry out routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance activities.
Follow production schedules and achieve assigned quality and productivity targets.

Required Skills & Qualifications

ITI/Diploma in Machinist, Fitt
