Role Description

GCP Security Specialist (Contractor) Financial Services | Banking | Google Cloud Security We are seeking a senior Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Security Specialist to support a strategic banking and capital markets engagement. The consultant will help accelerate the certification, hardening, governance, and secure adoption of Google Cloud services within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role requires deep GCP security expertise combined with practical experience supporting enterprise security, compliance, and cloud governance programs. Key Responsibilities

Lead security architecture reviews, threat assessments, and hardening activities for Google Cloud services.
Support cloud service certification, control mapping, evidence collection, and security approval processes required in regulated banking environments.
Provide expertise across BigQuery, PostgreSQL, Redis, GKE, Cloud Run, and other Google-native services.
Implement and advise on IAM, VPC Service Controls, Security Command Center, Chronicle, Cloud KMS, CMEK, DLP, and BeyondCorp.




Design secure landing zones, governance controls, and security guardrails for enterprise cloud adoption.
Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code deployments using Terraform.
Collaborate with architecture, engineering, risk, compliance, and security teams to accelerate cloud adoption while maintaining regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in cloud security, cybersecurity architecture, or enterprise cloud consulting.
5+ years of hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience.
Demonstrated experience supporting banking, capital markets, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
Experience with security control mapping, cloud governance, compliance, audit support, and risk management programs.
Solid knowledge of Zero Trust principles, identity security, data protection, and cloud-native security services.
