Job Summary
The Individuals & Societies Candidate will be responsible for providing academic and curriculum expertise in the IB Individuals & Societies subject group. The role will focus on curriculum development, academic content creation, assessment design, quality assurance, and supporting teachers in delivering engaging, inquiry-based and concept-driven learning experiences.
The SME will work closely with the IB Academic and Curriculum teams to ensure that learning resources and curriculum plans are aligned with IB philosophy, approaches to teaching and learning, inquiry-based learning, conceptual understanding, and relevant assessment requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, review, and enhance Individuals & Societies curriculum content in alignment with the relevant IB programme and school academic framework.




Support the development of concept-driven and inquiry-based learning experiences.
Develop curriculum maps, scope and sequence, unit plans, learning outcomes, and progression frameworks.
Create high-quality academic resources including lesson materials, inquiry tasks, case studies, source-based activities, worksheets, presentations, projects, and digital learning resources.
Ensure learning experiences encourage students to critically analyse social, cultural, economic, political, geographical, and historical issues.
Integrate local and global contexts into curriculum and learning resources.
Develop learning experiences that promote research, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and reflection.
Support interdisciplinary learning and identify meaningful connections between Individuals & Societies and other subject areas.
Develop differentiated resources to address diverse learner needs and abilities.
