Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development
- Lead piping system design for CDU-based single-phase and two-phase liquid cooling systems.
- Create 3D models, assembly layouts, and manufacturing drawings using CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.).
- Develop P&IDs;, isometric drawings, and BOMs.
- Optimize piping layouts for flow efficiency, reduced pressure drop, and minimal vibration.
- Select appropriate materials, fittings, valves, hoses, and connectors considering corrosion, thermal performance, and cost.
- Incorporate leak prevention, ease of maintenance, and assembly feasibility.
- Expertise in DFA, DFM, DFMEA, GD&T; aspects.
- Knowledge of corrosion, scaling, SS material, and metallurgical properties.
Analysis & Validation
- Perform or oversee flow analysis (CFD) and thermal-hydraulic calculations for sizing pipes, hoses, and manifolds.
- Apply stress analysis for pressure, vibration,
and thermal expansion.
- Support prototype builds and validation testing (pressure, burst, leak, vibration tests).
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain design documentation including specifications, test reports, and compliance checklists.
- Ensure compliance with ASME B31.3/B31.9, ISO 9001, RoHS, and data center cooling standards.
- Support technical reviews, DFMEA, and design approval processes.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work with mechanical, electrical, controls, and manufacturing teams for integration and optimization.
- Collaborate with suppliers for sourcing, manufacturability, and cost optimization.
- Provide technical guidance to installation, service, and commissioning teams.
