Job Description: AI-Powered Application Developer
Department: Technology Reports To: Head of Technology
Location: Remote (USA Time zone)
Status: FullTime
Position Overview
- We're hiring an AI-Powered Application Developer to build internal applications that augment how our teams work. You'll partner directly with people across the businesssales, service, finance, management to understand their workflows and ship AI-powered tools that take real work off their plates. From intelligent document processing to copilots embedded in existing workflows, you'll turn manual, repetitive, or judgment-heavy tasks into faster, AI-assisted experiences.
- This is a hands-on role for a developer who loves both the technical craft of building with LLMs and the product work of deeply understanding a user's job-to-be-done.
- You will operate as an individual contributor within the SME team, collaborating closely with the PAs, Solution Analyst, IT and reporting into IT leadership. You bring strong technical judgment, move fluidly between building, advising, and representing the work in client-facing conversations, and hold a high bar for what "positive" looks like in an AI-powered operation whether the audience is an engineer, a PA, or an executive member.
Key Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end AI-powered internal applications: web apps, copilots, automations, and workflow integrations that employees use every day
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand their workflows, identify high-leverage opportunities for AI, and translate them into shipped features
- Design and implement features using LLMs, RAG, structured outputs, function calling, and agentic patterns where they genuinely improve outcomes
- Integrate AI capabilities into existing business systems (CRMs, ticketing, ERPs, internal databases, document stores) through APIs and connectors
- Build retrieval pipelines over internal knowledge sources so AI tools answer with grounded, accurate, company-specific context
- Develop evaluation and feedback loops to measure whether your tools actually save time and improve qualityand iterate based on what you learn
- Implement guardrails and safety checks appropriate for internal data, including PII handling, access controls, and audit logging
- Maintain a strong pulse on adoption: shadow users, gather feedback, and prioritize what to build next
- Document your work clearly so other developers and stakeholders can understand and build on it
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of professional software development experience
- Hands-on experience building internal tools or business applications that real employees rely on—you understand the difference between a demo and a production internal tool
- Practical experience integrating LLMs into applications: prompt engineering, RAG, structured outputs, and tool/function calling
- Proficiency in Python and TypeScript (or similar), with experience building full-stack web applications
- Comfort working with business APIs and data sources (Salesforce, Microsoft 365, Zoom, AI platforms, internal databases, etc.)
- Strong product instincts—you ask "what problem are we actually solving?" before you write code
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders to scope, ship, and iterate
- Pragmatic judgment about when AI is the right tool and when a simpler solution wins
Nice to Have
- Experience building copilots, chat interfaces, or agentic workflows that take multi-step actions
- Familiarity with workflow automation platforms (Zapier, n8n, Power Automate)
- Background in business process improvement, ops engineering, or RPA
- Experience with vector databases, embeddings, and document processing (OCR, parsing, chunking)
- Awareness of data privacy, access controls, and responsible AI practices for sensitive internal data
- Comfort with rapid prototyping and lightweight user research
How You Work
- This role sits at a demanding intersection: enough technical depth to build things that work, and enough operational awareness to know what’s worth building. The strongest candidates:
- Hold themselves to a high bar on system reliability — they don’t ship something fragile and call it done
- Are skeptical of AI hype and grounded in what actually works in production
- Look for the data before assuming they understand the problem
- Are knowledgeable of and exercise the highest criteria for data security measures to protect all data and privacy of Prialto and its members
- Write documentation and SOPs that survive them — clear enough that others can own what they build
- Communicate technical decisions in plain language without losing precision
- Collaborate generously — sharing context, flagging blockers, and making teammates more effective
- Find the intersection of “clever” and “simple” when designing solutions
- Measure success by solid adoption metrics and continuous improvement
What Success Looks Like
Within your first six months, you've shipped at least one AI-powered internal tool that meaningfully reduces time spent on a recurring business process—and the team using it doesn't want to go back. Within a year, you've built a portfolio of tools, established repeatable patterns for shipping AI internally, and become a trusted partner to business teams across the company.
