Job Description – Warehouse Head

Role Purpose

Responsible for overall warehouse operations, inventory management, material availability, dispatch, warehouse efficiency, inventory optimization, customer service, and compliance across warehouse locations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage overall warehouse operations and inventory management activities.
2. Coordinate material movement and ensure effective management between warehouses.
3. Ensure OTIF performance across all warehouses and support customer service targets.
4. Monitor inventory accuracy and conduct periodic cycle counts and stock verification.
5. Ensure timely availability of materials for production and timely dispatches to customers.
6. Implement and monitor warehouse processes, SOPs, and inventory control systems.
7. Optimize warehouse space utilization, storage practices, and material handling processes.
8. Drive inventory reduction and improve inventory turnover.
9. Monitor and control warehouse operational costs.
10. Ensure adherence to FIFO, FEFO, and material traceability requirements.
11. Coordinate with Production, PPC, Purchase, Quality, Sales, and Logistics teams for smooth material flow.
12. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, statutory, and warehouse requirements.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, and Lean practices.
14. Monitor warehouse KPIs and initiate corrective actions to improve performance.
15. Lead warehouse automation and system improvement projects.
16. Develop team capability through training, coaching, and performance management.
17. Ensure timely closure of audit observations and compliance requirements.
18. Review customer service levels and drive improvement in OTIF performance.
19. Manage inter-plant material transfers and regional warehouse replenishment activities.
20. Maintain effective inventory and warehouse control through ERP/SAP systems.
