Role & responsibilities
- Responsible for preventing, preparing for, and effectively managing industrial emergencies, ensuring the safety of employees, assets, and operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive emergency preparedness and response systems for hazards such as fire, earthquakes, chemical incidents, and other unforeseen emergencies.
- Ensure all emergency response and firefighting equipment are adequately maintained, inspected, tested, and serviced in accordance with statutory and organizational requirements.
- Formulate, update, and implement safety policies, procedures, rules, and guidelines across all manufacturing units to ensure compliance with legal and corporate standards.
- Lead and execute plant-wide health, safety, and environmental initiatives, driving a proactive safety culture across the organization.
- Prepare and periodically update the In office Emergency Plan and submit the same to the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH) as per regulatory requirements.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct emergency mock drills to evaluate preparedness, identify gaps, and strengthen response capabilities.
- Design and deliver safety awareness, emergency response, and firefighting training programs for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Inspect and evaluate incoming machinery, equipment, and installations to ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements before commissioning.
- Coordinate with external agencies and regulatory bodies for conducting annual safety audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations and recommendations.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and other safety-related events, and prepare statutory reports within prescribed timelines, including submission of incident reports within 24 hours where required.
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and statutory compliance of environmental management systems, including the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and Fuel Treatment Plant (FTP), ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and sustainability standards.
- Monitor compliance with applicable safety, health, and environmental legislation and act as the principal custodian of workplace safety and emergency management systems within the organization.
- Coordinate with ESG leader and implement the compliance in the unit.
Preferred candidate profile
1. Preferably Engineering Graduate + PGDIS- having minimum 7-8 years of Experience.
