Description
The SEO & Marketing Manager combines hands-on SEO ownership with broad marketing coordination across the GMH portfolio. The role is responsible for technical, on-page, off-page and local SEO, while actively supporting the wider Marketing team with website and CMS updates, hotel liaison, campaigns, events, content workflows, third-party partners and operational follow-up. Success requires a hands-on marketer who can improve organic performance while also coordinating and delivering day-to-day marketing activity across all brands and properties, using AI, automation and data to increase efficiency and scale.
Key Responsibilities
• Own organic search performance across the portfolio, covering technical, on-page, off-page and local SEO, aligned to hotel, brand and commercial priorities.
• Lead technical SEO including crawlability, indexation, site architecture, redirects, canonicals, hreflang, XML sitemaps, structured data, Core Web Vitals, site speed and technical errors.
• Manage on-page and off-page SEO including keyword research, metadata, headings, internal linking, image optimisation, search-intent alignment, backlink strategy, Google Business Profile optimisation and local/destination citations.
• Use Google Search Console, GA4 and relevant SEO platforms to monitor visibility, traffic, rankings, conversions and revenue, and turn findings into clear actions.
• Support the wider Marketing team with day-to-day coordination and delivery of portfolio-wide and hotel-level marketing activity, ensuring actions, deadlines and dependencies are followed through.
• Liaise directly with hotels to gather and validate content, offers, events, imagery, operational updates and approvals required for websites, campaigns and marketing communications.
• Update website and CMS/backend content directly where appropriate, including hotel information, seasonal content, offers, events, imagery and landing pages, with strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Receive and coordinate marketing requests, routing/drafting briefs and assets to the appropriate team member - including the Graphic Designer, Content/Social team, Performance Marketing, Revenue or other stakeholders - and follow work through to completion.
• Coordinate with third-party agencies, developers, technology partners and suppliers, ensuring briefs are clear, actions are chased, issues are escalated and outputs meet the required standard.
• Maintain marketing calendars, trackers and workflows, proactively flagging risks, delays, missing information or dependencies before they affect delivery.
• Support the communication and activation of hotel events, seasonal campaigns, partnerships, F&B;, wellness, MICE, rooms and other commercial priorities across relevant marketing channels.
• Use AI and automation aggressively across both SEO and marketing operations - for research,
analysis, QA, monitoring, reporting, workflow automation, request handling and repetitive coordination tasks - not simply for writing content.
Requirements
• 3-5 years of experience across SEO and digital marketing, with solid hands-on capability rather than purely strategic or agency-management experience.
• Deep practical knowledge of technical, on-page, off-page and local SEO across multi-site, multi-brand or international environments.
• Hands-on experience with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs/SEMrush or similar tools, and confidence working directly within CMS environments.
• Strong marketing coordination and project-management skills, with the ability to manage requests, deadlines and multiple stakeholders across hotels, brands and external partners.
• Comfortable liaising directly with hotels, coordinating creative and content delivery, updating web content and following work through to completion.
• Strong AI and automation capability, with evidence of using LLMs, automation tools, APIs, scripts or no-code platforms to improve SEO and wider marketing workflows.
• Commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to connect SEO and marketing activity to direct bookings, revenue and measurable business outcomes.
• Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail, with a collaborative, hands-on mindset and willingness to support the wider Marketing team across priorities; hospitality, travel, ecommerce or multilingual-market experience is an advantage.
