The Psychology Counsellor will provide emotional and psychological support to patients and couples undergoing infertility evaluation and IVF/fertility treatment. The role involves counselling patients through treatment-related anxiety, stress, uncertainty, unsuccessful treatment outcomes, and relationship challenges while helping them make informed and emotionally balanced decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Patient Counselling
- Provide individual and couple counselling to infertility/IVF patients.
- Understand patients' emotional concerns, expectations, fears, and treatment-related stress.
- Provide psychological support before, during, and after fertility treatment.
- Pre-IVF Counselling
- Assess the emotional readiness of patients before starting IVF treatment.
- Explain common emotional challenges associated with infertility treatment.
- Help patients develop realistic expectations regarding treatment outcomes.
- Treatment-Related Emotional Support
- Support patients experiencing anxiety, stress, fear, uncertainty, or emotional distress.
- Provide counselling during procedures and the two-week waiting period after embryo transfer.
- Help patients manage treatment-related emotional pressure.
- Unsuccessful IVF / Pregnancy Loss Support
- Provide emotional support following failed IVF cycles, implantation failure, miscarriage, or pregnancy loss.
- Help patients cope with grief, disappointment, guilt, and emotional distress.
- Promote resilience and hope without creating unrealistic expectations.
- Couple Counselling
- Address relationship stress arising from infertility and fertility treatment.




- Improve communication between partners.
- Support couples in making joint and informed treatment decisions.
- Pregnancy and Follow-up Support
- Provide counselling after pregnancy confirmation.
- Support patients in managing anxiety and emotional concerns during early pregnancy.
- Conduct follow-up counselling based on patient needs.
- Coordination with Clinical Team
- Coordinate with doctors, embryologists, nurses, and other clinical staff when psychological concerns affect treatment.
- Escalate patients requiring specialized psychological or psychiatric intervention.
- Documentation & Records
- Maintain counselling notes and patient psychological assessment records.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper documentation of counselling sessions.
- Track patient counselling and follow-up requirements.
- Awareness & Staff Support
- Conduct awareness sessions on infertility-related emotional health.
- Support clinical staff in understanding patients' psychological needs.
- Participate in patient-support programs and fertility-related awareness activities.

Required Qualifications

- Master's degree in Psychology / Counselling Psychology / Clinical Psychology or relevant field.
- Relevant experience in counselling, preferably in IVF, fertility, reproductive health, hospital, or clinical settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and emotionally challenging situations with empathy and confidentiality.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
