MANAGER – KEY ACCOUNTS (Freight forwarding)

1. Role Purpose

Responsible for managing and growing assigned key accounts by driving deep selling and cross-selling, strengthening customer relationships, ensuring service quality, optimizing costs, and improving overall account profitability and customer satisfaction.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Business Generation: Generate additional business from assigned key accounts through deep selling and cross-selling of freight forwarding and related services.
- Key Account Retention: Retain key customers and continuously nurture long-term strategic relationships.
- Customer Management: Act as the key point of contact for customers and effectively handle complaints, escalations, and service-related issues.
- SOP Development: Develop and implement SOPs for operational processes and onboarding of key accounts in coordination with internal teams and customers.
- Cost Optimisation: Identify opportunities to optimize operational and service costs while maintaining customer service standards.
- Billing & Collections: Ensure accurate and timely billing, submission of invoices/statements to key accounts, and follow-up for timely collections.
- Customer Reporting: Prepare, develop, and submit value-added reports/MIS to key accounts.
- Business Reviews: Conduct periodic business reviews with customers, presenting performance, identifying gaps, and recommending improvement opportunities.

3. Required Experience & Skills

- 5–10 years of relevant experience in Freight Forwarding ,



with strong exposure to Key Account Management.
- Proven experience in growing existing accounts through deep selling and cross-selling.
- Strong customer relationship and complaint/escalation management skills.
- Positive understanding of freight forwarding operations and commercial processes.
- Experience in SOP development, cost optimisation, billing, collections, and customer MIS.
- Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to independently manage strategic/key customer accounts.
- Strong commercial orientation with focus on revenue, profitability, retention, and customer satisfaction.

4. Educational Qualification

- Graduate / Postgraduate in any discipline.
- Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field will be an added advantage.
