About the Role

Aachi Masala Foods is looking for a Costing Trainee who has completed CMA Intermediate to join our Finance & Costing team at our Corporate Office in Anna Nagar, Chennai.

The role is ideal for a CMA Intermediate-qualified candidate looking to build a career in cost accounting, product costing, cost analysis, MIS, and cost control within the FMCG/manufacturing industry.

The role requires regular travel from the Corporate Office at Anna Nagar to our Gummidipoondi Plant for collection, verification, and validation of production and costing-related data. Candidates should be comfortable with plant visits and work-related travel.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in preparing product-wise and SKU-wise costing for Aachi's food and FMCG products.
- Prepare and maintain cost sheets covering raw materials, packing materials, labour, manufacturing overheads, and other costs.
- Collect production, consumption, inventory, and other operational data from the Gummidipoondi Plant.
- Travel from the Anna Nagar Corporate Office to the Gummidipoondi Plant as required for data collection and verification.
- Coordinate with Production, Stores, Purchase, Quality, and Plant Finance teams to obtain accurate costing information.
- Verify and reconcile plant-level data with finance and costing records.
- Assist in analyzing material cost, production cost, conversion cost, and overheads.
- Perform actual vs. standard cost analysis and prepare variance reports.




- Assist in identifying reasons for cost variances and support corrective actions.
- Support raw material and packaging material cost analysis.
- Assist in inventory valuation and reconciliation.
- Prepare periodic costing MIS and management reports.
- Assist in monitoring changes in raw material and packaging prices and their impact on product costs.
- Support cost reduction and cost optimization initiatives.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and other management accounting activities.
- Maintain accurate costing records and ensure timely updating of costing data.
- Support the Finance team in other cost accounting and analytical activities as required.

Travel Requirement

- Regular travel between the Anna Nagar Corporate Office and Gummidipoondi Plant will be required.
- Travel will primarily be for data collection, verification, reconciliation, and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Candidates should be willing to undertake plant visits as part of their regular job responsibilities.
- Exposure to the manufacturing environment will be an important part of the candidate's learning and development.

Eligibility

- CMA Intermediate qualified – both groups preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Freshers are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with 0–1 year of experience in costing/accounting,



preferably in FMCG or manufacturing, will have an added advantage.

Required Skills

- Strong understanding of Cost Accounting and Management Accounting.
- Good analytical and numerical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIF/SUMIFS, and basic data analysis.
- Knowledge of product costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and cost control.
- Valuable communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work with large volumes of financial and operational data.
- Willingness to learn and work closely with cross-functional and plant teams.
- Willingness to travel to the Gummidipoondi Plant regularly.

Preferred Skills

- Exposure to FMCG/manufacturing costing.
- Knowledge of standard costing and variance analysis.
- Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and BOM (Bill of Materials).
- Interest in developing a long-term career in Costing & Finance.
