The Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) organization is responsible for managing relationships with millions of Merchants and Partners around the world that facilitate American Express acceptance and enabling the day-to-day operations of our company's payment network. The people, processes, and technology that support this vital function are evolving to improve the merchant experience and economics. Within GMNS, the Global Governance, Risk, Remediation & Operations (GRRO) team's mission is to deliver a best-in-class premium merchant member experience that will get merchant to not only accept American Express but openly welcome and recommend us to their customers

The objective of the GMNS Risk Reporting & Analytics team is to drive risk-based decisioning and management of risk & compliance objectives to support business priorities while promoting a strong risk culture. To that end, the team is to be responsible for developing and improving analytics and reporting strategies along with data capabilities for the GMNS business, with a strong focus on driving automation. The role will also support core control & compliance tracking by developing improved reporting and analysis to drive valuable insights and effective risk mitigation strategies. This includes developing C-suite reporting, root cause analysis, and ensuring GMNS is effectively achieving risk performance ratings. The position requires the ability to support global initiatives and participate in special projects across multiple regions and time zones.

Required Qualifications

- 0-2 years of experience in Risk Reporting, Risk Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Operational Risk, Compliance, or a related analytical function within Financial Services.





- Hands-on experience with Excel, Power BI, Python, SQL, and Gen-AI tools (Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT)

- Strong communication and storytelling skills

- Demonstrated experience developing executive reporting, dashboards, and analytical presentations for senior leadership.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience performing trend analysis, root cause investigations, and insight generation from large and complex datasets.

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of operational and enterprise risk management frameworks and key risk indicators (OREs, Issues, PRSA/RCSAs)

- Master’s in business administration, Risk Management, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.

- Experience supporting enterprise risk governance, executive reporting, or regulatory reporting initiatives.

- Experience driving reporting automation, process optimization, or analytics transformation initiatives.
