We’re hiring an HR Generalist at Sweans, Calicut.

We have a dedicated recruiter handling hiring, which means this role isn’t pulled into sourcing every time a vacancy opens. Your focus stays where it should be — people, processes, compliance, and the day-to-day running of HR.

What you’ll own

▸ Performance management — running review cycles, tracking timelines, and working with managers to keep the process on track

▸ Payroll and statutory compliance — handling Indian payroll processes and requirements including PF, ESI, professional tax, and statutory returns

▸ Employee lifecycle — onboarding, induction, confirmations, transfers, exits, and related documentation

▸ Employee relations — handling employee concerns, policies, documentation, and workplace matters with positive judgement

▸ HR operations & administration — keeping HR systems, records, processes, and day-to-day workplace operations organised

▸ Employee engagement — helping create an environment where people feel connected, supported, and want to stay

We’re a digital and eCommerce agency with designers, developers, marketers, analysts, and other specialists across Calicut, Trivandrum, Kochi, London, and Kuwait.

The people you’ll support are young, technical,



and spread across multiple locations, so this role needs someone who can be approachable with employees while being structured and professional in how they handle HR.

What I’m looking for

▸ 2–5 years of experience in HR generalist, HR operations, or a similar role — more experience is also welcome

▸ Hands-on experience with Indian payroll and statutory compliance, rather than simply having theoretical knowledge

▸ Experience owning or independently managing performance review cycles

▸ Comfortable working with HRMS/HR systems, maintaining accurate records, and keeping processes organised

▸ Excellent English communication and professional fluency in Malayalam

▸ Good judgement, discretion, and the ability to know what needs to be escalated and what you can handle independently

An MBA in HR or MSW is welcome, but not essential.

What matters more is that you’ve actually handled HR operations, understand the responsibility that comes with the role, and can work independently without needing every decision handed to you.

This is a role where you’ll have real ownership of the employee experience and HR operations, rather than simply supporting someone else’s process.

Pay: From ₹28,000.00 per month
