Job Summary

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to patients according to hospital protocols, doctor instructions, and established nursing standards.

The role includes patient assessment, medication administration, monitoring, documentation, infection control, coordination with doctors, and supporting patients and attendants throughout the treatment process.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide direct nursing care to admitted and emergency patients.
- Assess and monitor patients’ vital signs and clinical condition.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, injections, and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, and emergency interventions.
- Prepare patients for investigations, surgeries, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate nursing records, medication charts, intake-output charts, and patient documentation.
- Monitor patients for any change in condition and immediately inform the treating doctor.
- Follow medication safety protocols and verify patient identity before administering treatment.
- Maintain proper handover during shift changes.
- Ensure infection-control practices are followed at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of patient-care areas and nursing stations.
- Check availability of emergency medicines, equipment, oxygen, and essential supplies.
- Assist with admission, transfer, discharge, and patient education.
- Educate patients and attendants regarding medications, diet, mobility, follow-up, and home-care instructions.
- Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and emergency situations.
- Coordinate with doctors, physiotherapists, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, billing, and other departments.
- Follow hospital policies, NABH protocols, biomedical waste-management guidelines, and nursing SOPs.




- Report incidents, medication errors, falls, or adverse events as per hospital policy.
- Participate in nursing training, audits, quality-improvement programs, and clinical meetings.

- Patient positioning and mobility assistance

Qualification

Education: GNM / B.Sc Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing

Registration: Valid Nursing Council Registration required

Experience: Freshers or experienced candidates may be considered depending on department requirements.

Experience in Ward, ICU, Emergency, OT, Orthopedics, Medical-Surgical Nursing, or Multispeciality Hospitals will be an advantage.

Reporting

Reports to: Nursing Supervisor / Nursing Superintendent / Duty Medical Officer / Hospital Management

Job Objective

To provide safe, timely, compassionate, and protocol-based nursing care while ensuring patient safety, clinical quality, proper documentation, and excellent patient experience.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
