Position: Production Head – Sheet Metal Production
We are looking for an experienced Production Head to lead sheet metal stamping, fabrication and assembly operations across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day production for sheet metal stampings and fabricated assemblies.
- Ensure production planning, schedule adherence and on-time customer delivery.
- Manage press operations, progressive dies, stamping and assembly lines.
- Define and control process parameters including press tonnage, die clearances, lubrication, blanking/shearing and forming sequences.
- Drive OEE improvement, scrap/rework reduction and cost optimization using Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, TPM, SMED and VSM.
- Manage tooling life and preventive maintenance of presses, feed lines, jigs and fixtures.
- Drive manpower planning, operator training and multi-skilling.
- Ensure compliance with EHS, safety and statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Tool Room teams for NPI, process capability, first-off approvals and trials.
- Lead RCA and corrective actions for die failures, high scrap and dimensional non-conformances.
- Prepare production performance reports and MIS.
Required Skills
- Robust knowledge of sheet metal stamping & fabrication
- Press operations and progressive dies
- Die design fundamentals, forming/bending, blanking & trimming
- Production planning and capacity loading
- OEE,
TPM and Lean Manufacturing
- SPC, MSA, Cp/Cpk and First Article Inspection
- RCA methodologies – 8D, Ishikawa, 5 Why
- ERP production modules & advanced Excel/MIS
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
- Diploma holders with strong stamping experience and progressive leadership may also be considered.
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial/leadership role.
Preferred
- Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
- TPM certification/training
- Automotive or heavy-equipment manufacturing experience
