Job Description

Excellent Consultancy is hiring a Senior Python & Django Developer for an exciting backend engineering opportunity with a leading technology organization.

We are looking for a hands-on backend developer with 5+ years of professional software development experience and solid expertise in Python and Django. The ideal candidate should have experience building scalable backend applications, developing REST APIs, working with databases, and contributing to technical and architectural decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and Django.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Django REST Framework (DRF).
- Develop efficient, secure, and reusable backend components.
- Work with PostgreSQL and optimize database queries and performance.
- Implement asynchronous and background processing using Celery.
- Work with Redis for caching, messaging, and performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and production issues.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain high-quality coding standards.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to backend architecture, system design, and technical decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.





Required Skills

- 5+ years of skilled software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Solid hands-on experience with Django.
- Experience with Django REST Framework (DRF).
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend development.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
- Hands-on experience with Celery.
- Experience with Redis.
- Good understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Experience developing scalable and maintainable backend systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized applications.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture.
- Experience with automated testing and API testing.
- Understanding of application security and performance optimization.
