JOB DESCRIPTION Inline Drip Irrigation senior Machine Operator

Reports To: Production Supervisor / Plant Manager

1. Job Purpose

To operate and monitor the Inline Drip Irrigation Pipe Production Line efficiently and safely, ensuring continuous production of high-quality drip irrigation pipes as per company specifications, production targets, and quality standards.

The operator will be responsible for machine operation, process control, basic troubleshooting, quality inspection, material handling, and maintaining production records.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Machine Operation

- Operate inline drip irrigation pipe extrusion/production machine.
- Start, stop and operate the complete production line as per SOP.
- Set and monitor machine parameters such as:
- Extruder temperature
- Screw speed
- Line speed
- Vacuum
- Water cooling
- Pressure
- Dripper insertion parameters
- Cutter/winder settings
- Maintain proper synchronization between extrusion, dripper insertion and winding/cutting systems.
- Ensure continuous and smooth production with minimum downtime.
- Monitor machine performance throughout the shift.

B. Dripper Insertion & Production Control

- Ensure correct inline dripper placement and spacing.
- Check dripper feeding and insertion continuously.
- Identify missing, damaged, tilted or improperly inserted drippers.
- Maintain required dripper spacing as per product specification.
- Ensure correct pipe diameter, wall thickness and overall dimensions.
- Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain production consistency.

C. Quality Control

Regularly check:

- Pipe outer diameter
- Wall thickness
- Pipe weight/meter
- Dripper spacing
- Dripper insertion quality
- Water flow/uniformity
- Pipe surface finish
- Leakage
- Strength and flexibility
- Winding quality
- Length per coil

Immediately report and correct quality deviations.

D. Raw Material Handling

- Handle HDPE/LDPE/LLDPE and other production materials carefully.
- Follow the approved raw material and mixing/batch instructions.




- Ensure correct material is loaded into the machine.
- Prevent material contamination.
- Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
- Coordinate with the material/store department for timely material availability.

E. Troubleshooting

- Identify common machine problems during production.
- Troubleshoot basic issues related to:
- Extruder
- Heater
- Cooling system
- Vacuum system
- Dripper feeder
- Dripper insertion unit
- Winder
- Cutter
- Sensors
- Inform the maintenance team immediately in case of major breakdowns.
- Assist maintenance personnel during machine repair and preventive maintenance.

F. Production Target

- Achieve daily/shift production targets.
- Maintain optimum line speed without compromising quality.
- Minimize machine stoppages and production losses.
- Reduce startup scrap and rejected material.
- Maintain proper production efficiency.

G. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate shift records for:

- Production quantity
- Raw material consumption
- Scrap/rejection
- Machine downtime
- Breakdown time
- Product specifications
- Quality issues
- Shift handover

Provide proper handover information to the next operator/supervisor.

3. Safety Responsibilities

- Follow all factory safety rules and SOPs.
- Use required PPE while operating the machine.
- Never bypass safety sensors or guards.
- Maintain a clean and protected working area.
- Follow proper procedures during machine startup, shutdown and maintenance.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, electrical issues, oil leakage or mechanical abnormalities.

4. Candidate Requirements

Education:
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Plastics, Production or related field preferred.

Experience:
2–5 years of experience operating:

- Drip irrigation pipe machine
- Inline drip machine
- Plastic extrusion machine
- HDPE/LDPE pipe machine
- Irrigation pipe production line





Candidates with direct experience in inline drip irrigation manufacturing will be preferred.

5. Required Skills

The candidate should have:

- Good understanding of plastic extrusion processes.
- Practical knowledge of inline drip pipe production.
- Ability to set and monitor machine parameters.
- Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
- Good understanding of quality parameters.
- Ability to work in shifts.
- Ability to maintain production records.
- Discipline and responsibility toward machine and production.
- Ability to work independently after training.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Ideal candidate:
A hands-on operator who has already worked on an inline drip irrigation production line and understands extrusion, dripper insertion, cooling, sizing and winding.

The candidate should not only operate the machine but should be capable of detecting quality problems early and making basic process adjustments independently.

8. Salary

₹15,000 – ₹40,000 per month, depending on experience, technical skill and ability to independently operate the complete line.

Additional: Shift allowance / performance incentive may be provided as per company policy.

9. Working Conditions

Priority 4: Experienced Plastic Extrusion Operator willing to learn inline drip production

Pay: ₹8,797.90 - ₹40,000.00 per month
