Consultant Neurosurgeon

Position: Consultant – Neurosurgery
Location: Krishna Hospitals, Vijayawada
Employment: Full-time / Visiting Consultant

Role Summary

Krishna Hospitals is seeking an experienced Neurosurgeon to provide comprehensive surgical and clinical management of patients with brain, spine and peripheral nervous system disorders and to contribute to the development of a strong Neurosurgery service.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct Neurosurgery OPD consultations and inpatient reviews.
- Diagnose and manage brain, spine and peripheral nerve disorders.
- Perform neurosurgical procedures including cranial, spinal and emergency neurosurgical surgeries, according to expertise and hospital facilities.
- Manage neurosurgical emergencies including head injury, intracranial hemorrhage, acute neurological deterioration and spinal emergencies.
- Evaluate and manage brain tumors, hydrocephalus, degenerative spine disease, spinal tumors, trauma and vascular neurosurgical conditions.
- Coordinate with Neurology, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, Orthopaedics and other specialties.
- Provide pre-operative evaluation, surgical planning and post-operative management.




- Participate in ICU and emergency case management when required.
- Maintain accurate patient records, operative notes and discharge documentation.
- Follow hospital clinical protocols, infection-control practices and NABH standards.
- Participate in neurosurgical camps, awareness programs and referral-network development.
- Support the growth and development of the Neurosurgery Department.

Qualifications

- MS/DNB in General Surgery with MCh/DNB in Neurosurgery
- Valid medical registration.
- Experience in independent neurosurgical practice preferred.
- Experience in cranial and spinal procedures preferred.
