Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Lathe Setter / Operator to operate and set conventional/CNC lathe machines for manufacturing precision automotive components. The candidate should be capable of machine setting, tool selection, production monitoring, and maintaining required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Set and operate lathe machines as per production requirements.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, work instructions, and process sheets.
- Perform machine setting, tool setting, and job setting accurately.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, fixtures, and machining parameters.
- Carry out turning, facing, drilling, boring, threading, chamfering, and other machining operations.
- Ensure components are produced as per drawing dimensions and customer specifications.
- Perform in-process inspection using vernier caliper, micrometer, bore gauge, height gauge, and other measuring instruments.
- Monitor tool wear and replace/adjust tools whenever required.
- Maintain proper machine parameters and minimize rejection, rework, and tool consumption.
- Identify machining defects and take corrective action in coordination with the production/quality team.




- Achieve daily production targets while maintaining required quality standards.
- Maintain 5S, safety, housekeeping, and discipline at the workplace.
- Record production, rejection, and other required process data accurately.
- Follow company quality procedures, safety requirements, and standard operating procedures.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of lathe machine operations and setting.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
- Positive knowledge of measuring instruments and inspection methods.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic machining and machine-setting issues.
- Knowledge of automotive component machining will be an advantage.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts.

Education & Experience

- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related trade.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in lathe machine setting and operation.
- Experience in automotive component manufacturing / precision machining is preferred.

Pay: ₹9,567.32 - ₹31,825.16 per month
