Job Purpose

The Mechanic is responsible for carrying out inspection, maintenance, repair and replacement work on commercial vehicles according to job-card instructions, OEM procedures and workshop safety standards. The role is accountable for workmanship, productivity, proper tool use and first-time-right repair.

1. Vehicle Inspection & Diagnosis

· Inspect vehicles according to assigned job cards.

· Understand complaints and report observations to the Head Mechanic/Technical Advisor.

· Carry out basic diagnosis using approved procedures and equipment.

· Do not replace parts without proper diagnosis/authorisation.

2. Repair & Maintenance

· Perform scheduled maintenance and authorised repairs.

· Follow OEM repair procedures, specifications and safety instructions.

· Use correct tools, equipment and consumables.

· Complete work within assigned standard/target time as far as reasonably possible.

3. Quality & Testing

· Check all work after completion before handing the vehicle forward.

· Ensure proper tightening, fitment, fluid levels and reassembly.

· Report any additional defect or abnormal condition immediately.

· Support testing/road testing as instructed.

4. Job Card & Parts Discipline

· Carry out only work authorised on the job card.





· Use parts issued against the correct vehicle/job.

· Return unused parts and report damaged/incorrect parts.

· Record relevant technical findings through the prescribed process.

5. Safety & Housekeeping

· Use required PPE and follow workshop safety procedures.

· Keep work bay clean and free of hazards.

· Handle oils, batteries, fluids and waste materials safely.

· Report unsafe conditions, accidents or near misses immediately.

7. Qualification & Experience

· ITI/Automobile/Mechanical qualification preferred.

· 2–5 years commercial vehicle workshop experience preferred; relevant freshers may be considered.

· Basic diagnostic, repair and tool-handling skills.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
