About the Role

ZugZwang Academy is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Chemistry Tutor to conduct engaging online classes for school students. The ideal candidate should have strong conceptual knowledge of Chemistry and the ability to explain challenging topics in a simple, structured and interesting way.

This is a part time teaching opportunity suitable for tutors who enjoy working with children and helping them develop strong conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct engaging and interactive online Chemistry classes for school students.
- Teach concepts clearly rather than relying on rote memorisation.
- Build strong fundamentals and gradually introduce higher-level concepts based on the student's level.
- Use practical examples, experiments, visual explanations and real-life applications wherever appropriate.
- Help students develop logical thinking, analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Solve and discuss questions with students during sessions.
- Encourage students to ask questions and develop curiosity towards Chemistry.
- Identify areas where students need improvement and adapt teaching accordingly.
- Prepare lesson plans and practice material based on the student's curriculum and learning goals.
- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain regular communication regarding student performance when required.
- Make online sessions interactive,



engaging and age-appropriate.

Candidate Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- Prior experience teaching Chemistry to school students is preferred.
- Strong conceptual understanding of Chemistry.
- Ability to explain complex concepts in a simple and easy-to-understand manner.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Patient, encouraging and comfortable working with children.
- Ability to conduct engaging online classes using digital teaching tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Comfortable teaching students at different levels and adapting the pace accordingly.

Preferred Experience

- 2+ years of Chemistry teaching/tutoring experience preferred.
- Experience with online teaching is an advantage.
- Experience preparing students for Olympiads, competitive examinations or advanced-level academics will be an added advantage.

What We Look For

We are looking for someone who can go beyond simply completing the syllabus. The tutor should be able to make students think, question, understand and apply Chemistry, while creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
