Job Title: Endoscopy Technician

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare the endoscopy procedure room, equipment, instruments and consumables before procedures.
- Assist doctors during procedures such as Upper GI Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, ERCP and other endoscopic procedures as applicable.
- Prepare and position patients before and after procedures while maintaining patient comfort, privacy and dignity.
- Set up and operate endoscopy equipment, monitors, light sources, insufflation and suction systems as required.
- Handle endoscopes, accessories and related equipment safely and appropriately.
- Perform cleaning, disinfection, leak testing, drying and proper reprocessing of endoscopes as per hospital protocols.
- Follow strict infection prevention and control practices and biomedical waste management procedures.
- Assist with specimen collection, proper labeling and transfer to the laboratory.
- Check equipment functionality before and after procedures and report any malfunction or maintenance requirement.
- Maintain procedure records, equipment logs, scope reprocessing records and other departmental documentation.
- Monitor availability of endoscopy consumables and maintain adequate stock levels.




- Assist the clinical team during emergency endoscopy procedures when required.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, CSSD, Biomedical Engineering and other departments for smooth functioning of the unit.
- Participate in departmental audits, quality improvement activities and training programs.
- Comply with hospital policies, NABH requirements, patient-safety standards and confidentiality guidelines.

Qualification

- Diploma / B.Sc. in Endoscopy Technology or equivalent relevant healthcare technology qualification.

Experience

- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in an Endoscopy Unit / Gastroenterology Department.

Skills & Competencies

- Good knowledge of endoscopy equipment and accessories.
- Knowledge of endoscope cleaning, disinfection and reprocessing.
- Strong understanding of infection-control and patient-safety practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Attention to detail and valuable documentation skills.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts and support emergency procedures.

Salary: Based on experience, qualification and industry norms.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
