About the job

We are looking for an experienced Frontend / GIS Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in modern frontend development, GIS, interactive web mapping, data visualization, and web accessibility. The ideal candidate will have proven practical experience across GIS + Frontend Development + WCAG 2.1 AA Accessibility. You will be responsible for developing interactive GIS maps, operational dashboards, and accessible, high-performance web applications.

Responsibilties

- Build and enhance interactive statewide GIS maps and web-based mapping applications.
- Develop operational dashboards and interactive data visualization components.
- Implement map features such as layers, controls, filters, markers, and geographic visualizations.
- Develop responsive and user-friendly frontend applications using React, Angular, or modern JavaScript.
- Integrate GIS and mapping technologies such as ArcGIS Maps SDK, MapLibre, or similar platforms.
- Ensure applications comply with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
- Optimize UI performance, responsiveness, usability, and overall user experience.
- Troubleshoot frontend and GIS-related issues and perform defect resolution.
- Collaborate with QA, business stakeholders,



and development teams during UAT and acceptance testing.

Required Qualification

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geomatics, GIS, Geography, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in Frontend Development, GIS, or Web Mapping.
- 5+ years of experience in frontend development.
- Solid hands-on experience with React, Angular, or Modern JavaScript.
- Proven experience in GIS and interactive web mapping.
- Experience with ArcGIS Maps SDK, MapLibre, or similar GIS/web mapping technologies.
- Strong experience in data visualization and dashboard development.
- Hands-on experience implementing WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
- Experience developing interactive maps, layer controls, and visualization components.
- Strong understanding of UI development, responsive design, and frontend performance optimization.
- Experience with bug fixing, defect resolution, UAT, and acceptance testing.
