This role will be the single point of ownership for finance and accounts at EquityList, working closely with founders, operations and sales. The role requires hands-on execution as well as the ability to set up processes, controls, and dashboards from scratch.

Key Responsibilities

- Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts on a regular basis.
- Record all transactions including revenue, expenses, accruals, provisions, and adjustments.
- Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing with proper documentation.
- GST Compliance
- Compute GST liability and ensure timely GST payments.
- Identify transactions applicable under Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM).
- Compute GST payable under RCM and ensure timely payment.
- Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns, reconciliations).
- Perform GST reconciliations between books and GST portal.
- Coordinate with consultants for GST notices and assessments.
- TDS & Payroll Tax Management
- Compute and deposit TDS (salary and non-salary) on time.
- Prepare and file TDS returns and manage Form 16 / 16A issuance.
- Handle payroll tax components including PF.
- Vendor & Payment Management
- Manage vendor onboarding, documentation, and compliance checks.
- Review and process vendor invoices.
- Track vendor payments and resolve discrepancies.
- Act as the primary finance point of contact for vendors and consultants.
- Invoicing & Revenue Operations
- Generate customer invoices and ensure accuracy in pricing, taxes, and terms.
- Track collections, follow up on receivables, and manage aging reports.




- Maintain proper revenue recognition in coordination with accounting standards.
- Budgeting, Reporting & Dashboards
- Prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Build and maintain dashboards for: Cash flow tracking Revenue vs expenses Runway and burn analysis Vendor spend analysis Unit economics Tax liability tracker (GST, TDS, RCM, payroll taxes)
- Share periodic financial MIS with the founder and leadership.
- Reconciliations
- Perform regular bank, GST, TDS, and ledger reconciliations.
- Identify mismatches and resolve discrepancies proactively.
- Ensure clean books for audits and investor reviews.
- Audit & Compliance Coordination
- Coordinate statutory audits, tax audits, and internal reviews.
- Act as the primary liaison with auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain documentation required for audits, due diligence, and investor queries.
- Process Setup & Controls
- Set up finance processes and internal controls suitable for a growing startup.
- Identify gaps, risks, and improvement areas in finance operations.
- Drive automation and efficiency in finance workflows.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting; CA/CMA/MBA (Finance) preferred.
- 3-6 years of experience in accounting, taxation, or finance roles,



preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Robust hands-on knowledge of GST (including RCM), TDS, and payroll compliances.
- Experience in budgeting, MIS reporting, and financial analysis.
- Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets and accounting tools like Tally, Zoho Books, or QuickBooks.
- Ability to work independently, coordinate with consultants and auditors, and build finance processes from scratch.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear communication.
- High ownership mindset with integrity and a hands-on, execution-oriented approach.

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
