Position: Sanskrit Teacher
Grades: Grade 5 onwards
Curriculum: CBSE
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Sanskrit lessons in accordance with the CBSE curriculum and prescribed learning outcomes.
- Teach Sanskrit grammar, vocabulary, prose, poetry, comprehension, translation, and literature appropriate to the grade level.
- Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, pronunciation, and comprehension skills in Sanskrit.
- Explain Sandhi, Samasa, Shabdarupa, Dhaturupa, Vibhakti, Karaka, and other grammatical concepts in a clear and age-appropriate manner.
- Introduce students to Sanskrit literature, Indian culture, values, traditions, and classical texts.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, projects, question papers, and other learning resources.
- Use innovative, activity-based, and student-centred teaching methodologies to make Sanskrit engaging and accessible.
- Conduct regular assessments and provide constructive feedback to improve students’ academic performance.
- Prepare students effectively for school and CBSE examinations.
- Provide remedial support to students who require additional assistance and enrichment activities for advanced learners.
- Encourage participation in Sanskrit-related activities such as shloka recitation, storytelling, debates, quizzes, essay writing, and cultural programmes.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, academic progress, and student development.
- Integrate appropriate digital resources and technology into classroom teaching.
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Communicate with parents regarding students’ progress, learning needs, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, and professional development programmes.
- Contribute to the overall academic, cultural, and personal development of students.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sanskrit or a related discipline.
- B.Ed. or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Strong command of Sanskrit grammar, literature, and pronunciation.
- Good understanding of the CBSE Sanskrit curriculum and assessment pattern.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to explain complex grammatical and literary concepts in a simple and engaging manner.
- Proficiency in using digital teaching resources.
- Passion for promoting Sanskrit language, literature, and Indian cultural heritage.
- Prior teaching experience in a CBSE school, particularly with Grade 5 onwards, will be preferred.
