A Bodyshop Advisor works in an automobile accident-repair/bodyshop facility and acts as the main point of contact between customers, technicians, insurance companies, and the dealership.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive customers and inspect vehicles for accident/body damage.
- Prepare accurate repair estimates and explain repair requirements to customers.
- Coordinate vehicle insurance claims, surveyors, and documentation.
- Create job cards and ensure vehicles are properly assigned to technicians.
- Coordinate with denting, painting, mechanical, and detailing teams.
- Keep customers updated about repair progress, costs, and delivery timelines.
- Obtain customer approval for additional repairs or cost variations.
- Conduct final vehicle inspection before delivery.
- Coordinate billing, insurance approvals, and vehicle handover.
- Maintain customer satisfaction and handle complaints professionally.
- Follow company safety, quality, and repair procedures.
Required Skills
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Knowledge of automobile body repair and painting processes.
- Basic understanding of insurance/claim procedures.
- Ability to prepare estimates and job cards.
- Good coordination and follow-up skills.
- Computer knowledge, including MS Office and workshop/dealership software.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet delivery targets.
Typical Qualification
- Diploma/ITI in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Experience in an automobile dealership/bodyshop is an advantage.
- Freshers with relevant automotive knowledge may also be considered for trainee roles.
