Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Planning Engineer with strong expertise in MS Excel, project planning, commercial coordination, and MIS reporting. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring project progress, preparing planning and management reports, analyzing project data, tracking costs and quantities, and providing accurate MIS reports to management for effective decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and maintain project schedules, work plans, progress trackers, and monitoring systems.
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports covering project progress, manpower, materials, productivity, billing, and costs.
- Use MS Excel extensively for data analysis, dashboards, trackers, reconciliation, and management reporting.
- Monitor planned vs. actual progress and highlight delays, deviations, and critical activities.
- Coordinate with project/site teams to collect and validate progress and commercial data.
- Support preparation and monitoring of BOQs, quantities, RA bills, work orders, subcontractor bills, and project costs.
- Track project billing, collections, expenses, variations, and other commercial information.
- Prepare management dashboards, productivity reports, variance reports,



and project performance reports.
- Maintain accurate databases and ensure timely submission of project-related reports.
- Analyze project data and provide meaningful insights to management regarding progress, cost, productivity, and commercial performance.
- Coordinate with Accounts, Commercial, Procurement, and Site teams for data reconciliation and reporting.
- Assist management in identifying cost overruns, productivity gaps, delays, and other project issues.
- Ensure all planning and MIS reports are accurate, updated, and submitted within deadlines.

Required Skills

- Advanced MS Excel skills are mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS/COUNTIFS, IF formulas, data validation, conditional formatting, charts, dashboards, and data analysis.
- Experience in preparing skilled MIS reports and management dashboards.
- Good understanding of project planning, progress monitoring, billing, BOQ, quantities, and commercial activities.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to handle large volumes of data and work with strict reporting deadlines.
- Experience with MS Project / Primavera will be an added advantage.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in construction, infrastructure, oil & gas, pipeline, EPC, marine, or industrial projects will be preferred.
