India

The Company is a Kolkata-headquartered manufacturer with over six decades of legacy in transmission line hardware, fittings and accessories spanning 11 kV to 800 kV — serving distribution, substation, HTLS conductor, OPGW/ADSS and Emergency Restoration System (ERS) segments. With 7,000+ projects executed across 47+ countries, 700+ customers including leading utilities, EPCs and OEMs, and an in-house NABL-accredited lab, the Company is a promoter-led, growth-stage organisation where capable people get real ownership and recognition.

Role Objective

To build and run a robust cost accounting function that gives management accurate, decision-ready visibility on product costs, margins and inventory. With a high-volume, multi-SKU product range manufactured through forging, casting, machining, fabrication and galvanising, and sold largely through competitive tenders, costing accuracy directly drives bid competitiveness and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

- Costing system: Design, implement and own the cost accounting system — cost centres, overhead allocation, absorption logic and SOPs — and establish it within the ERP.
- Standard costing & BOMs: Maintain accurate standard costs, Bills of Materials and routings across the full product range; drive periodic standard cost revisions in line with input price movements.
- Variance analysis: Produce daily and monthly production, consumption, scrap and variance reports; analyse material price and yield, labour, machine utilisation and overhead absorption variances, and drive corrective action with plant teams.
- Margin analysis: Report monthly gross margin by product, customer,

order and job; flag margin-eroding products and customers with root-cause analysis.
- Tender & pricing support: Build cost sheets for bids, evaluate margin at bid stage, and review post-order profitability against bid assumptions. Support export vs domestic profitability analysis including landed cost elements.
- Product & process decisions: Assess cost impact of changes in design, raw material specification, manufacturing method or vendor mix; support make-vs-buy and in-house-vs-job-work decisions.
- Inventory & reconciliation: Own inventory valuation across RM, WIP, FG and job-worker stock; reconcile physical inventories and cycle counts; prepare slow-moving/obsolete provisions and reconcile job work, scrap and process losses.
- Closing, budgeting & audit: Support month-end and year-end close, budgets and forecasts. Maintain statutory cost records, reconcile cost and financial accounts, and support cost audit under the Companies (Cost Records and Audit) Rules.
- Cross-functional partnership: Work closely with Supply Chain on vendor rate and landed cost analysis, with Production on cost discipline and yield, and with Sales on pricing inputs. Lead cost reduction and special projects as required.
