Freshclean Chemicals

India

The role

This is not a territory-servicing role. You will be the first commercial hire for this product line and will be expected to independently build the customer base, the distribution network and the online B2B presence, working out of our Kalyan office and travelling regularly across the Gujarat and Coimbatore–Tirupur industrial clusters.

You will have direct access to the Founder, the formulation team and the plant. In return you are expected to run this business like your own: identify the right accounts, open doors, run trials, close, collect and grow.

Key responsibilities

Offline B2B business development

- Map, prospect and convert institutional laundry customers across the two clusters: commercial and industrial laundries, hotels and resorts, hospitals and healthcare linen services, hostels and facility-management companies, and garment / textile processing and finishing units.
- Build and manage a pipeline of trial accounts: coordinate sample despatch, on-site trial protocols (dosage, softness, fragrance retention, cost-per-load comparisons) and convert successful trials into repeat supply agreements.
- Appoint and manage distributors, stockists and laundry-chemical dealers in Gujarat and Coimbatore to reach smaller accounts, with explicit territory, pricing and credit terms.
- Pursue private-label and bulk-supply opportunities with regional homecare brands, laundry-chemical resellers and hospitality procurement groups.
- Represent the company at cluster-level trade events, laundry and hospitality expos, and textile-association meetings.

Online B2B channel

- Set up and run the company's presence on B2B marketplaces (IndiaMART, TradeIndia, Amazon Business, JioMart Business / Udaan and similar), including listings, pricing, catalogue content and enquiry response within agreed turnaround times.
- Qualify and convert inbound online enquiries; route larger leads into the offline field process.
- Work with the Founder on lead-generation content: product data sheets, trial case studies, cost-in-use calculators, LinkedIn and WhatsApp Business outreach.

Commercial ownership

- Own the monthly and quarterly sales plan for the product line: volume, revenue, gross margin, new accounts opened and trial-to-order conversion.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing within approved bands,

and manage payment collection and receivables discipline for your accounts.
- Coordinate with the plant on production planning, packing formats (5 L, 20 L, 50 L, 200 L and bulk) and despatch schedules to meet customer commitments.
- Maintain accurate CRM / lead-tracker records, weekly visit reports and a monthly business review with the Founder.

Market intelligence and product feedback

- Track competitor products, pricing, dosage claims and dealer margins in each cluster and feed this back to the formulation team.
- Collect structured customer feedback on softness, fragrance longevity, compatibility with detergents and machines, and dosing convenience, to guide product and pack improvements.

Candidate profile

Must-have

- 3–6 years of B2B field sales experience in laundry / institutional chemicals, textile auxiliaries, specialty or performance chemicals, hospitality supplies, or industrial consumables.
- Demonstrated track record of independently opening new accounts and hitting targets, ideally in a new-product or new-territory build-out.
- Comfortable with technical selling: reading a product data sheet, explaining active content, dosage and cost-per-load, and running a controlled trial at a customer site.
- Willingness to travel 12–15 days a month across Gujarat and Coimbatore–Tirupur, with Kalyan as base; valid driving licence preferred.
- Fluent in Hindi and English; working knowledge of Gujarati and/or Tamil is a strong advantage.
- Graduate in any discipline; B.Sc. / B.Tech in Chemistry, Chemical or Textile Engineering, or an MBA in Sales / Marketing preferred.
- Hands-on with Excel / Google Sheets, WhatsApp Business, CRM or lead-tracker tools, and B2B marketplace seller panels.

Good to have

- Existing relationships with institutional laundries, hotel or hospital housekeeping and procurement teams, or laundry-chemical distributors in either cluster.

- Exposure to the Tirupur knitwear / Coimbatore textile ecosystem or the Surat–Ahmedabad textile processing belt.
- Experience selling concentrates or high-active products where the pitch is cost-in-use rather than price-per-litre.

Who succeeds in this role

- A self-starter who is comfortable working without a team around them, building the playbook rather than following one.
- Persistent and organised: many accounts will need three to five visits, a trial and a costing before they convert.
- Commercially sharp: understands margin, credit risk and the difference between a good order and a good customer.
- Curious about the product and willing to learn the chemistry well enough to be credible with plant managers and housekeeping heads.

Key performance indicators

- Number of new institutional accounts opened per quarter and trial-to-order conversion rate.
- Monthly volume (litres / kg) and revenue against plan, and gross margin realised versus approved price bands.
- Number of active distributors / dealers appointed and their monthly offtake.
- Online enquiry response time, enquiry-to-quotation ratio and online revenue share.
- Receivables: days sales outstanding and overdue percentage on your accounts.
- Quality of market and product feedback delivered to the formulation team.

What we offer

- The opportunity to build a business line from scratch with direct founder support, and a clear path to a Business Head role for this vertical as it scales.
- Fixed salary in line with experience, plus an uncapped performance-linked incentive on revenue and margin.
- Travel and daily allowance as per company policy, mobile and data reimbursement.
- Direct exposure to product development, plant operations and pricing decisions that are usually out of reach for a sales executive in a larger company.
