Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Estimation Engineer – Mechanical with 5–6 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, precision machining, and cost estimation. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing drawings and technical requirements, preparing quotations, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure competitive and profitable pricing.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and understand mechanical drawings, BOMs, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for mechanical and precision-machined components.
- Calculate material, machining, tooling, labour, overhead, and other production costs.
- Analyze manufacturing processes such as CNC Turning, CNC Milling, VMC, Wire EDM, grinding, and other machining operations.
- Obtain and evaluate raw material and vendor quotations for estimation purposes.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, Design, and Engineering teams for technical and commercial inputs.
- Study customer RFQs and prepare timely responses and quotations.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend suitable manufacturing processes.
- Maintain estimation sheets, costing records, quotation databases, and related documentation.
- Compare actual production costs with estimated costs and identify variances.
- Support the sales/business development team with technical and commercial inputs.
- Follow up on submitted quotations and maintain quotation status records.




- Ensure estimates are prepared accurately within the required timelines.
- Support management in pricing strategy, cost analysis, and profitability evaluation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5–6 years of relevant experience in estimation, costing, production engineering, or mechanical manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical manufacturing and machining processes.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T;, tolerances, and material specifications.
- Experience in CNC machining and precision engineering will be preferred.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and estimation/costing techniques.
- Ability to analyze technical drawings and calculate manufacturing costs accurately.
- Good negotiation and vendor coordination skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in precision machining, aerospace components, automotive components, engineering manufacturing, CNC machining, or job-work industries will be preferred.
